Christmas and New Year’s Holiday Hours

The Freight Capital Team will take time to observe the federal banking holiday and spend time with family and friends during the upcoming Christmas and New Year’s holidays.

We will be open during reduced hours on Christmas Eve, Saturday, December 24th from 7:00am to 12:00pm pacific time.  We will be closed the day after Christmas, Monday, December 26th and reopen on Tuesday, December 27th through the 31st on our regular business hours.

We will be closed the day after New Year’s, Monday, January 2nd and reopen Tuesday, January 3rd  on our regular business hours. In order to avoid any delays in funding, please call Client Services at 1-800-720-4918, for available options before the holiday.

CTA San Diego Unit President’s Night Meeting

Get ready and gear up for President’s Night held by the San Diego/Imperial Unit of the California Trucking Association on Thursday, December 8th.  President’s Night honors the achievements of the 2011 CTA President Al Garcia. The event kicks off with a social at 6:30pm followed by dinner at 7:00pm.

Executive Vice President/CEO Mike Campbell will discuss the current state of the CTA.  It will be held at Seau’s The Restaurant located at 1640 Camino Del Rio South in San Diego, CA.  The cost is $35 per person.

Please assist the CTA by bringing a new, unwrapped toy.  They will be presenting donations to Operation Homefront, Sheriff’s Department and Toys for Tots. Read the rest of this entry »

Thanksgiving Holiday Hours

Thanksgiving is a very special day. Tradition calls for an abundance of food to be sure, but more importantly to be surrounded by family and friends and give thanks.

Freight Capital will pause this holiday and close on Thursday, November 24 to celebrate Thanksgiving Day festivities.

To avoid a delay in funding, please call 1-800-720-4918 for options before the holiday.  We will reopen Friday morning 6am-1pmPST and on Saturday 7-3:30pm PST. We will return to regular hours Monday, November 28, 6am-9pm Mon-Fri and 7am-1pm Sat.

Veterans Day November 11

Freight Capital will be closed on Friday, November 11 in observance of Veterans Day. As a national federal holiday honoring military veterans, banks will also be closed and there will be no fundings.

In some parts of the world, Veterans Day is known as Armistice Day or Remembrance Day.  Officially, Veterans Day was established on the 11th month, the 11th day and the 11th hour to symbolize the anniversary of the signing of the Armistice that ended World War I.

Please contact Client Services at 1-800-720-4918 until 9pm on Thursday for funding options before the Friday holiday. Advances will be available Sat 7-3:30pm and regular extended hours Mon-Fri 6am-9pm will resume on Monday, November 14.

Why Columbus Day is Observed
Columbus Day is traditionally observed on the second Monday in October, recognizing the arrival of Christopher Columbus to the Americas. Columbus sailed from Europe to the Americas landing in the Bahamas, not on the mainland, on October 12, 1492.  He is often portrayed as the first European to sail to the Americas and the official discoverer of the New World.  He also made three additional voyages and was credited with discovering the South American mainland.  Most notably, Columbus was one of the first officially sanctioned ocean voyagers to conclude the world was round and bigger than everyone at the time thought. California Trucking Association San Diego/Imperial Unit Meeting

The California Trucking Association welcomes new and current members to an informative meeting on September 15th from 11:30am till 2:00pm with the luncheon starting at 12:00pm in San Diego. If you are a resident of California and want your ideas and concerns regarding the trucking industry heard in Sacramento, come to this local meeting which is open to the public with lunch served.

CTA Meeting Topics

The meeting will discuss upcoming elections for the 2012 Unit Officers and Directors, CSA 2010, CARB Compliance, policy and Kingpin activity, ‘Hot Topics’ and local issues.

Rene Pacheco, who was recently elected CTA Director of the San Diego Unit Steering and Planning Committee and Freight Capital Affiliates Manager, will attend the event.  Rene says “This is the opportunity for those of you in the trucking industry to learn about upcoming activities, ask questions, and voice your concerns.  Others may share the same concerns or have the same questions.
